Editor’s Note:
Coconut Times photo journalist Gary Crouthamel attended the music festival all three days and captured some amazing photos from 22 musical acts. Because of the logistics of covering three stages, Gary was not able to attend every concert, and did not have time to write notes as he usually does for his concert assignments; so I’m stepping in to give an overview of this nearly 200 pictures spread.
The pictures are presented by day - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - and by on which stage they played. The number of photographs and the way coconuttimes.com it formatted made it imperative that I create a different Review page for each day and stage. This means that there are 8 separate Concert Reviews under Features. Be sure to scroll all the way down to view each and every photo in the batch. As only three reviews show, you must go to ARCHIVES at the bottom of the page to view the others. Remember to 'click here for the full story' and click on photos to enlarge.
Here is the lineup you will see:
SLIGHTLY STOOPID, ALANIS MORISSETTE and JACK JOHNSON Friday on the Sea Bright Stage
TOAD THE WET SPROCKET, THIRD EYE BLIND and O.A.R. Friday on the Rockville Stage
GIN BLOSSOMS, NOAH KAHAN and JOHN MAYER Saturday on the Sea Bright Stage
MIKE CAMPBELL & THE DIRTY KNOBS, DISPATCH and BEN HARPER & THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS
Saturday on the Rockville Stage
MATT & KIM Saturday on the Carousel Stage
ROBERT RANDOLPH, G LOVE & SPECIAL SAUCE, NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS and
THE LUMINEERS Sunday on the Sea Bright Stage
ALO, FITZ & THE TANTRUMS, O.A.R. & FRIENDS and WEEZER Sunday on the Rockville Stage
THE WALLFLOWERS Sunday on the Carousel Stage
I hope this allows for optimum viewing of these great photos. Many thanks to Gary Crouthamel who had to go through many more shots to narrow it down to the ones we like the best. All accounts report that the music festival was a huge success which hopefully means Oceans Calling will be an annual event in beautiful Ocean City.
